About Calgary
Calgary is where Antler Home Lighting is based, which means the crew designing your system lives in the same weather you do. When a chinook takes the temperature through fifteen degrees in an afternoon and back again overnight, we are not calling that in from somewhere milder.
The city’s housing stock is unusually varied, and that matters more than people expect. The inner-city streets have deep eaves, mature trees and rooflines with real character to trace. The newer communities on the edges run to steeper pitches, taller gables and a lot of front-facing garage. Those are different design problems, and a plan laid out well for one looks wrong on the other. We measure and design each home on site rather than working off a formula.
The freeze-thaw cycle is the practical consideration here. Melting and refreezing several times a week is harder on a roofline than a steady deep freeze, and it is why we look at the state of your fascia and eavestrough before we quote rather than on install day.
Winter is the whole argument. Calgary is properly dark by late afternoon in December, and the stretch from November to February is long. A house with its lines lit is a better place to come home to for a third of the year — and the holiday lights are already up, every year, without anybody standing on ice with a staple gun.
